Tally alternative for FMCG distributors

TallyPrime is accounting software first — excellent at books, GST and inventory, and what most accountants work in. An FMCG distributor's day is mostly distribution: orders from many places, godowns, beats, vans, schemes, brand claims and collections. Tally leaves that to partners and add-ons.

4. Keeping Tally for your accountant

You don't have to switch everything on day one. Distiqo AI has its own full books and a desk for your CA, but if your accountant wants to stay in Tally, run both: ledgers and statements export to Excel. The honest limit is that there is no live, two-way sync between them.

Moving from Tally doesn't need a migration project:

Export your ledgers, stock items, and sales and purchase books from Tally to Excel or PDF (Tally exports to Excel: source).
Upload them in Distiqo AI's onboarding: debtors, creditors, stock, retailers, and your sales and purchase books. Tally, Marg and BUSY exports are recognised automatically; other files are mapped column by column. Beats are built from your retailers' addresses.
Keep Tally running alongside for as long as you like. You switch when you're ready.

Is Tally enough for an FMCG distributor?

Tally is strong on accounting, GST, inventory with batches and godowns, and e-invoicing. The distribution side — salesmen's orders, beats, van loading and delivery, retailer ordering, automatic schemes, brand claims — isn't built in; distributors add partner-built extensions or separate apps. Distiqo AI's Distribution OS does both sides in one system.

Can Distiqo AI replace Tally completely?

It can. Distiqo AI keeps full accounts — ledgers, journals, trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, TDS, depreciation and loans — files GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from the system with your OTP, matches GSTR-2B to purchases, and has a desk for your CA.
